Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University (朱拉隆功大學) hosts a grand graduation ceremony each year, which United Daily News (UDN) has likened to a “wedding ceremony.”

Unlike graduation ceremonies in Taiwan, where graduates wear gowns and take selfies, every single detail of the graduation ceremony at Thailand’s oldest and most prestigious university is carefully thought out, from the decorations to the walking etiquette. The parents of some graduates even hire professional photographers to take photos of their kids, reports UDN.

The elaborate ceremonies are also attended by Thai Princess Sirindhorn, who hands students their diplomas, according to the news agency. Model and actress Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, herself a recent Chulalongkorn graduate, was known to be a gifted student much like the one she played in the hit Thai film “Bad Genius.”
